Bye Bye Linode.

posted: 07 Feb 2017

First of all it’s been a while. Who knew that having a baby would take so much time out of your life. The best thing to ever happen to me but alas some things suffered, much like this blog hehe.

The chopping block.

So this is the year of savings so I was looking around to see where I can cut some cost. Unfortunately Linode was one of those services that made its way to the chopping block. Not because of the quality of service, I’ve been a happy Linode customer since 2008. The reason is because I was using it to host this blog. Pretty much over paying to host what is essentially a static website.

Who filled the void?

As you can clearly see the website is not down so obviously I went somewhere. Amazon’s AWS has this service that allows you to host websites in S3. So far so good. As far as savings are concerned I’ll let you know when I receive the first bill.

Details?

My next post will have more details as to how I deliver content to s3 utilizing AWS services. This post is merely a warm up. Cmon it’s been a while and I’m rusty.

Linode it’s been a pleasure but I bid thee adieu. Maybe we’ll work again together some day.

As far as the rest of you, talk to you soon…
